The Good
When it comes to Pokémon video games this is by far my favorite. Yes, it's more of the same thing; explore, catch Pokémon, complete side quests and battle other Pokémon Trainers. It's everything that you love about the franchise with enhanced graphics. If you like the Pokémon games on DS, and 3DS, then you'll love this game!
Pokémon Sword and Shield is more of the same. For us hardcore fans, it doesn't stray from it's proven formula. The story is decent and there's plenty of things to do after the main story is done. You know you gotta catch 'em all. And through the use of Pokémon Home and the Pokémon Pokebank, you can import your captured Pokémon from previous games.
And we're on the precipice of the first of two DLC additions to the game, The Ilse of Armor releasing June 17, 2020. I'll be sure to review that once is available to everyone. This addition will also allow the addition of 100+ old and new Pokémon to be found, traded, imported and captured. The second DLC is scheduled to be released in the Fall of this year.
The Bad
Pokémon Sword and Shield is more of the same. What is best about the game can also be what's bad about this game. I can see how some people may get tired of doing the same thing again and again. And others have complained about the seemingly outdated graphics of the Nintendo Switch. But to me, the graphics are heads and tales above the graphics of the DS/3DS line of games so I'm good.
