Us busy dads have to be more discerning with the time that we have to play video games. So I created The Busy Dad Score to help you decide whether you should spend your valuable time on the games I review.

As much as we busy dads would love to just play video games all day, we have way too many responsibilities to do that. There's always something that needs to be done, time to be spent, and somewhere to go. So I figured that The Busy Dad Score (BDS) should be determined by the factors below.

The final score is based on a scale of one to three with three being the highest and a perfect score. Each rating criteria gets one star only to keep it simple.  These ratings are my own and do not reflect the views of anyone else.

Some games are just easy to pick up and some are so complex that it'll take you a while to figure it all out. And then it will take you even longer to get comfortable with the controls of the game. If the learning curve for a game is low then it will get a star.

Who doesn't want a fun game to play, especially when you're busy and have a limited time to enjoy them? Not me! So if the game is fun it'll get a star.

This rating is by far the most important to me. The faster that I can pickup and play the game and feel fulfilled the better. If this is true for a video game then it gets a star.
